Sammy’s Pizza has been a West Duluth tradition since 1956, originally owned by Sam Perrella and Sam Perella, Jr. Current owners (since 2002) are Mike and Pam Jerulle, along with Tony and Kelly Jerulle and Rich and Rachel Chapulsky (all of which who also own Sammy’s Pizza in Grand Rapids and Hibbing).
Mike and Pam run the day-to-day operations at the restaurant – something you could say Mike has been training for since 1964. That’s when he first started working at Sammy’s Pizza in Hibbing, where he earned 50 cents an hour cutting cheese and pepperoni by hand. Mike served as manager of the West Duluth Sammy’s for 19 years, prior to purchasing it with his cousins and close friends.
